Review | Sugar Matte as Hell Crayon Lipstick | 03 Poison Ivy

Sugar Cosmetics launched just a couple of years back but it's become one of the most loved makeup brands lately, specially for their range of ultra matte lipsticks, be it liquid or crayon or bullet.

Today I'm reviewing the Sugar Matte as Hell Crayon Lipstick in Poison Ivy (03).

Packaging :

• It comes in a cardboard box with a tangram abstract picture of a girl and a black band which has all the details written over it.

• You get a free sharpener for the crayon which comes in a green small box separately.

• The sharpener is of good quality and quite sturdy and helps sharpen the crayon precisely

• The crayon itself is enclosed in a glossy black body with a textured black cap, which fits quite well

• It is a plastic crayon and not a wooden one

• The crayon is colour coded at the bottom as per the shade of the lipstick, which makes it easy to identify

• Overall the packaging is classy and travel friendly

Ingredients :

Texture & Formula :

• It has a creamy formula and goes on very smoothly, does not tug at your lips

• After application it dries down to a complete matte finish in a few seconds

• Highly pigmented, one swipe gives you opaque finish

• Transfers a little, not completely transfer proof

• Stay up to 8 hrs, with water and light snacks

• It does not survive oily food, and starts to fade from the centre

• Leaves your lips super dry

• Crumbles and feathers after a few minutes of application

• Accentuates chapped lips

Conclusion :

• The shade is an amazing burgundy with purple undertones

• As compared to NXY Copenhagen, the shade is similar, but more towards red

• Not the most comfortable formulas I have come across, leaves your lips dry, NXY formula is much more comfortable than Sugar lispticks

• Wastage of product on sharpening

• Will purchase again, only for it's highly pigmented formula and long lasting matte finish

#AABtip : Exfoliate your lips well and get rid of all the chapped areas and prep with face oil or a very moisturising lip balm to get the best output. Don't go over with more layers of lipsticks as it will crumble more. Just 1-2 swipes are enough.
