Hey moons ! I'm back with a review and this time it's a liquid lipstick, which, trust me 'does not budge'. It's the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink in the shade 'Believer'. Let's head into the review and check if the lipstick stands true to it's name.
Brand : Maybelline
Product : Super Stay Matte Ink
Shade : Believer (40)
Packaging :
This liquid lipstick comes in a matte rectangular bottle which is of the similar colour as the shade inside, so it's easy to identify
It has a semi matte finished white cap which has the text Super Stay Matte Ink embedded in it. The text 'Matte Ink' has the same color as the lipstick shade
The bottle is super sturdy and the cap fits perfectly. It's a little longer as compared to the other lipsticks but still very travel friendly
It has a doe foot applicator on a long wand which makes it easy for precise application
The shade is mentioned at the bottom of the bottle on a transparent sticker
Ingredients :
Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Isododecane, Nylon-611/Dimethicone Copolymer, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, C30-45 Alkyldimethylsilyl Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Lauroyl Lysine, Alumina Silica Silylate, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Limonene, Aluminum Hydroxide
Formula & Shade :
The shade is a beautiful deep purple pink.
But beware the shade looks different on different skin tones. It looks a bold purple pink on light to medium skin tones, however it looks a dark purple on medium to dark skin tones, like mine.
It smells like vanilla cake batter, which I love
The lipstick goes on in a liquid form and dries down to a absolute matte finish in just a matter of minutes
The only thing I hate is that, even after drying down it is super sticky. Like even if you press your lips together, it will take a few seconds to part
For me, it's not at all a comfortable formula and I'm not a fan of such lipsticks
Gives an opaque finish in 1-2 swipes
Staying Power :
The lipstick does stay true to it's name and stays on the whole day and maybe even after that, if you don't remove it before sleeping
It is transfer-proof and does not crumble or feather which I love
Does not settle into fine lines
The application is smooth, but you need to have a steady and fast hand because once it dries, it is super difficult to remove without staining.
It survives water, snacks, food and even desserts, almost everything and fades only at the inner line of lips
Overall the neither the colour fades nor the lipstick
I did not feel any need of reapplication
It takes a lot of efforts and really good quality makeup remover to get rid of this lipstick
Does leave the lips dry
Price : INR 650/- for 5ml of product
Conclusion:
Overall it's a great lipstick if you want a long stay without reapplications
The only thing which is the turn off for me is the sticky formula which I find uncomfortable.
But it does not transfer, crumble, feather or settle in fine lines, so I guess it's even
I would reach out for this one only for it's staying power
Does dry out lips and is difficult to remove, you need proper lip care before and after if you want to use this one
Affordable and easily available for this staying power and matte finish
It would have been my favourite if it did not leave a sticky feeling.
Where to Buy :
Online : Nykaa, Amazon, Maybelline India Site
Offline : Local cosmetics stores which hoard maybelline products, Lifestyle, Big Bazaar, Shoppers Stop, Beauty Planet, Beauty centre, Maybelline Stand alone counters, New U, Health & Glow
#AABTip : Exfoliate your lips and hydrate them before application. However take off the excess lip balm as the lipstick does not stick to lips if there is a layer of balm beneath.
