Let's Shave Soft touch 6 vs. Gillette Venus Manual Razor | Review

So we had a short discussion last week on my insta handle about Shaving, Waxing and Epilating. Thanks all of you who participated. It was an initiative to learn more about hair removal and what women prefer based on each one's experiences.

As I said, I prefer Shaving over Epilating and Waxing, as it can be done in your own shower, in like 2 mins/ body part. Though the growth of hair starts immediately next day, I still prefer it over rashes that I get on pulling out my hair from it's roots, which is what Waxing and Epilating does.

So today I'm here with a clash review between 2 loved brands which came out with razors for women and made our lives a little more easier. Let's head into the review

Brands : Let's shave vs. Gillette Venus

Product : Let's Shave Soft touch 6 Razor vs. Gillette Venus Manual Razor

Packaging:

• Let's Shave Razor is larger in size than the Gillette one and visually covers quite some skin during shaving which I feel, is an hindrance for quick shaving

• Gillette Venus on the other hand is smaller and lighter in weight, which helps in swift movement

• Grip wise, Let's shave one is much better which sturdy design which helps avoids razor cuts as compared to the Gillette Venus

• One more benefit of the Let's shave razor is that the razor cartridges come in a small plastic case which makes it super travel friendly

• Gillette cartridges come in use and throw plastic covers, not so travel friendly

Effectiveness :

Have tried and tested both of these razors several times and have come to the following conclusion :

• Let's Shave razor has 6 blades and the upper 3 blades can bend and move on curves, whereas, Gillette Venus has only 3 blades and a flexible neck

• Even with 3 blades, the Gillette razor gives a much better shave than the 6 bladed Let's shave one

• Just in 1-2 swipes the Gillette Venus gives a closer shave while the Let's shave razor takes several swipes to get rid of the hair

• There is less gap between blades in Let's Shave Razor and thus the cleaning of hair becomes more difficult, another reason for less effective shaving

• The Gillette razor can easily be cleaned just by holding it under the tap or rigorously twirling in a mug of water

• After shower I usually find many areas left unshaven even after I have swiped the Let's shave razor many times all over, comparatively the Gillette Venus rarely leaves you with unshaven areas

• Let's Shave consumes more time and energy than Gillette Venus, still Gillette manages to give a better and closer shave

• A Let's Shave cartridge can stand only 3-4 shaves whereas a Gillette Venus cartridge goes strong even after 6-8 shaves

• However it is recommended to keep changing the blades every few months, depending on the frequency of use, to avoid infection

Apart from the travel friendly packaging and better grip, Let's Shave Razor does NO good job at shaving. Gillette however has some cons when it comes to packaging, but it does it's work very well. I would prefer Gillette Venus over Let's Shave Razor anytime.
